Michelle A. Mierzwa is a Partner in Wright, Finlay & Zak’s Compliance Division, providing loan originators, servicers, investors, trustees and others in the mortgage industry with state and federal compliance and regulatory counsel in the Western States. Over 20 years in the industry, she resolved litigation through jury and bench trials and appellate practice, created a legal department for one of the largest foreclosure trustees in the West, coordinated compliance audits, and managed the California branch of a national law firm. She works with lenders and servicers of all sizes to ensure compliance with state and federal laws, including CA and NV Homeowner Bill of Rights, FDCPA, RESPA, TILA, SCRA, Washington Foreclosure Fairness Act, NV, OR and WA Foreclosure Mediation Programs, Dodd-Frank Act and CFPB Rules, state licensing laws, and regulatory agency investigations. She is a member of the Legislative Committees for CMBA and United Trustees Association, a three-term Board member of UTA and frequently speaks at industry conferences and servicer trainings. Prior to in-house and litigation experience, Ms. Mierzwa worked in loan originations. She is admitted to practice in California and Washington.
